The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department is currently seeking qualified Volunteers to become part of our team as Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Associate members. Our department has well trained and experienced Chief Officers who work with our members, providing chances for those qualified to advance through the ranks on both suppression and EMS ranks.
Our Department responds with a variety of apparatus, including our own ambulance providing Basic Life Support Services, to over 2500 EMS Calls annually. Our Engine and Heavy Rescue Units respond to over 1500 calls annually to everything from rural rescue and brush fires to highway rescue, extrication calls, commercial building fires.
For those who wish to support the department in a non-operational side, there are opportunities for advancement as well as committee chairs, alternates, and delegates to the state and county associations, as well as administrative officers. We are always seeking members to support the department with social media, recruiting, bookkeeping, and a variety of administrative functions. Yearly, our officers and members are recognized for their contributions to the department at our annual installation of officers and awards banquet. Those that qualify receive benefits for attending the state convention in Ocean City Maryland. There is also the opportunity for continued service to receive life membership and tax benefits. Those who commit to 25 years of service are eligible to receive LOSAP (Length of Service Awards Program) retirement.
The department is family oriented, with a sense of camaraderie and pride in ownership. Those who are active fire and EMS members receive free training and equipment. There are live-in/sleep-in opportunities in our newly renovated bunk rooms.
