John H. Traband was an early member of the department in the 1930’s.  There are very few records from this time frame but a search revealed he was born on September 29, 1857 and was laid to rest September 21, 1938, with his final resting place at Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery, Upper Marlboro, MD.  Records also show he was the original owner of the land that the current firehouse sits on.
